How to Play Word Madness
Already know your level? Open the level finder. If your level number differs, search by the letters on your puzzle.
Word Madness is a word-building puzzle in which you form accepted words from a limited set of letters. The exact letters and accepted words can differ by level, language and game mode.
This guide explains campaign puzzles, VIP levels, released Daily source boards and five-letter Wordle mode. Start with the correct mode, then compare the letters on your screen before relying on an archived answer.
How Word Madness Works
In the main campaign and VIP modes, a puzzle gives you a fixed group of letters and asks you to find the words accepted by that level. A letter can only be used as many times as it appears in the puzzle set.
Not every dictionary word that can be formed from the letters is necessarily part of the stored accepted-word list for that puzzle.
How to Solve a Word Madness Level
Read the Puzzle Letters
Identify every available letter and note any repeats.
Look for the Longest Word
A longer word uses more of the puzzle letters and can reveal common roots or letter combinations for shorter answers.
Group Possible Words by Length
Use the empty answer spaces in your game to determine whether you need a three-, four-, five- or longer word.
Reuse Letter Patterns
A longer word can reveal shorter combinations that use the same letters. Check common prefixes, suffixes and rearrangements.
Use the Answer Page Only for the Missing Word
CodyCross Answers groups accepted words by length so you can check the answer size you still need without reading every solution.
Why Word Madness Levels Differ by Language
Word Madness stores language-specific puzzle records. The same campaign level number can use different letters and accepted words in English, French, German, Italian or Spanish.
If an answer page appears completely different from your board, confirm the language before assuming the archived level is incorrect.
What to Do When Your Level Does Not Match
If the level number is correct but the letters are different, search the actual letters shown on your screen.
The Letter Finder can compare those letters against stored campaign or VIP records. Enter every repeated letter exactly and add a known word when several puzzles look similar.
Open the Word Madness Letter FinderHow VIP Levels Are Different
VIP uses a separate level number space from the main Word Madness campaign. A VIP Level 100 is not the same record as campaign Level 100.
CodyCross Answers’s VIP archive comes from a published-solutions source and has not been independently checked against the live game, so compare the stored letters before relying on a VIP word list.
Browse VIP AnswersHow Word Madness Daily Puzzle Is Different
Daily Puzzle uses separate event data rather than the numbered campaign. The Daily archive now contains released source-recorded boards with puzzle letters, required answers, bonus words and grids.
It also contains source schedules. Those schedules identify UTC event windows but are not, by themselves, solved puzzles. Check the released board's language and letters before using its recorded answers.
Source-recorded boards have not all been independently replayed in the live game, so the archive does not guarantee an identical board for every player or game version.

Wordle mode uses five-letter hidden answers and position feedback rather than the standard campaign answer-list format.
CodyCross Answers stores released Wordle records by UTC source date, source window, puzzle ID and language, and provides a helper for narrowing possible five-letter words.

Use Every Repeated Letter Correctly
A duplicated letter can be the difference between two otherwise similar searches. Keep every copy when comparing a stored puzzle.
Solve Long Answers Early
Longer answers often expose the most distinctive letter combinations.
Use Empty-Slot Lengths
Knowing that you need a five-letter word can remove most irrelevant combinations immediately.
Try Common Word Families
After finding one word, look for related forms that can be built from the same letters, while remembering that the puzzle may not accept every valid dictionary form.
Search the Actual Letters
If an archived level number does not match, use the board itself as the source of truth and search its letters.
Common Word Madness Mistakes
Using a Letter Too Many Times
A word cannot use more copies of a letter than the puzzle provides.
Checking the Wrong Language
A correct word in one language does not make it an accepted answer in another language archive.
Mixing VIP and Campaign Levels
VIP numbering is separate from the normal campaign.
Assuming Every Possible Word Is Accepted
Word Madness uses puzzle-specific accepted-word records rather than every dictionary word that can be formed.
Treating Daily Suggestions as Verified Answers
An exact released Daily source-board match provides a recorded board. A broader letter-search suggestion is not proof that a word belongs to that day's puzzle.
Word Madness Gameplay Questions
What is the goal of Word Madness?
Form the accepted words for the puzzle using the letters provided.
Can I use the same letter twice?
Only when that letter appears enough times in the puzzle set.
Why does my level have different letters from the answer page?
The game language, version or mode may differ. Search the actual letters shown on your board.
Are all dictionary words accepted?
No. The stored answer list is puzzle-specific.
Are VIP levels the same as campaign levels?
No. VIP has its own numbering and records.
Does Daily mode have verified answers on CodyCross Answers?
The site has released Daily source-recorded boards with letters, required answers, bonus words and grids. These records have source provenance, but individual boards are not claimed to have been independently replayed in-game. Schedule-only entries are not solved boards.
How does Wordle mode work?
Wordle mode uses a hidden five-letter answer and position feedback. CodyCross Answers keeps its archive separate from standard levels.
